As our world has been turned upside down by Covid-19, I wanted to share with you one of the best sources for living a healthy life now. We all know the importance that exercise, sleep, water and healthy eating have on our health and wellness. Did you know that Nature is one of the best sources for our best health? What if I shared with you some of benefits that Nature has on our health and wellness? Read below – you won’t believe how easy and fun it can be.
Here’s what Nature can do for your Health and Wellness
Breathe in Nature Green! Hear the Waterfall
Nature benefits your immune system by giving it a boost
While out in Nature, you are most likely to be in the sun at least some of the time. The sun is our best source of Vitamin D giving an immediate boost to our immune system. Sunlight also energizes special cells called T cells that help our body fight infection. Equally important are the many substances that plants put into the air. Organic compounds called phytoncides boost our immune systems, lower blood pressure and helps us to focus better.
Nature improves your sleep
Being out in nature helps our body set its sleep cycle. The cells in our eyes need enough light to get the body’s circadian rhythm (internal clock) working properly. The light from the morning sun seems to help people get to sleep at night. This may be more important as we age because our eyes are less able to absorb light, and we’re more likely to have problems with our sleep.

Stress Floats Away
Nature tends to cause us to breath more deeply, close our eyes and relax. The sight and smell of trees and plants as well as the sound of water causes an immediate “let go” of the tension in our bodies.
Nature Enhances our Mental Health
It’s proven that a daily walk lessens depression and anxiety. Looking at the plants, trees, water and wildlife as well as breathing in the air helps us to feel at peace, calm and centered. Nature also helps to improve our focus allowing us to complete tasks easily thus making us feel more accomplished. Creativity is also enhanced by nature, and we generally feel better about ourselves when we are creating.
Relax Nature Springs Forth Health and Wellness
So there you have it. Several of the benefits that nature has to offer. In today’s world, taking care of our health and wellness is a gift that WE can give ourselves. Nature is where we can find the benefits to guard our health and take it to the next level.
Go talk a walk, a hike or a bike ride. Pay attention to the sights, sounds and smells. Your health and wellness will thank you!
Please keep in mind that during this health crisis, pay attention to the social distancing guidelines. As you can see in the photos, there is no one around. #staysafe

There is nothing like time spent in nature to clear the mind and feed the soul! I lived in Tennessee for 10 years and miss it so much! Your pics remind me how much I miss the mountains and the beautiful scenery there. Thanks for the great info!💕💕
I didn’t know you lived in Tennessee. Where did you live? I do love the parks and trails here. We try to take advantage as often as we can.

We lived in Sevierville. We moved back to South Carolina to be closer to family after living in TN for 10 years. It is my dream to get back there someday with a home in both places. 🧡🧡
That would be awesome. I love South Carolina too!

Oh yes, we love to be in nature right now! That is so de stressing! We were planning on going out today!
I hope you enjoyed your time outside. We certainly did.
Kim
I am you! I get out every day unless it is totally bucketing down (it happens a lot in Ireland). Now more than ever I need my walks and even though we are restricted to 2 km from where we live, I have a beach and a park to walk through. Nature is healing. Great post Kim xxx
Thank you Hilda. How are things in Ireland. I would love to have a beach to walk on. Stay safe.

Such lovely photos! We’ve been able to get outside everyday, and it’s definitely been a lifesaver.
Take care, Lisa
It has been a lifesaver for us too. Every evening, we had over to our local greenway and get a walk in!

I love these messages. Being in nature – even if it is just walking around gazing at the flowers in gardens at the homes in my neighborhood – bring me great delight. Yes! So good for good health!
We don’t live in a neighborhood but I do have flowers in my yard. Last night we enjoyed a bonfire in our back yard. So good to be outside!
