Lately I have been feeling the stress in my life.  There’s a lot going on in my world. I knew I needed some Stress Relieving Tips. When I sat down to analyze the stress of it all, here’s what I came up with:

The stressor’s in my life have always been there…work, sons, growing a business with my husband and one for myself. But lately, things have intensified with my job responsibilities increasing, one of my sons moving back home and having them both here  for a short time, we have a rescue kitty that has inoperable cancer and our businesses are both busy.

I noticed that I have completely neglected myself self care. As a midlife woman, my brain has a tendency to think that I that all of those other things must be taken care of before me. This thinking has caused my stress to manifest itself as lack of sleep, and various aches and pains.  And, I simply want to do nothing but hide my head in the sand sometimes.

Taking care of ourselves is critical and it can be done in less time than you think and in many easy ways.  Below is a list of 7 Stress Relieving Tips that will have you relaxing in as little as 15 minutes and taking care of you:

Exercise Together!

7 Stress Relieving Tips

1. Taking  a walk is one of my best stress relieving tips.

15 minutes is all you need to relieve your stress.  If you can get outside to walk, that’s even better.  Really, any exercise will do.  Exercise lowers your body’s stress hormones and helps it to release endorphins!

2. Breathe deeply.

Take five slow breaths, inhaling deeply,  through your nose, holding at the top and slowly exhaling. Deep breathing helps to slow your heart rate and lower your blood pressure.

3. Spend time in nature.

When weather permits, get outside.  Expose your arms and face to the sunlight.  This stress relieving tip helps you absorb some Vitamin D. Vitamin D boosts your energy and your mood.

4. Spend time with your family and friends.

Be sure that laughter is included in your visit! Of all the Stress Relieving tips, this one should also put a smile on your face!

5. Spend time with your pets.

Hugging your family pet helps reduce your anxiety and makes you feel loved!

6. Do some stretching or easy yoga.

This will help to ease the tension in your muscles. This tip will set you up for a good nights sleep.

7. My Personal Favorite Stress Relieving Tip

Take a long, warm soak in the tub. Candles, a glass of wine, low lights, bath bombs.  This certainly helps me wash my stress down the drain.
