Just a quick check in and share today!  I have been drinking this Breakfast Protein Shake for the past several weeks and I find that it is a easy, filling, and healthy change from having a traditional breakfast each morning.  This Breakfast Protein Shake also gives me a boost to my immune system because it has probiotics and antioxidants right in the mix.  Since I am a working gal, I can take it in the car with me and sip on it or, if I am not hungry, I can drink it when I get to the office.  It stays perfectly blended and cold in my insulated cup.

Here’s what you need to have an this amazing Breakfast Protein Shake:

Handful of fresh Spinach

½ frozen banana (or fresh if you don’t have frozen)

1/3 cup frozen wild blueberries

1 scoop of organic protein (my choice is Orgain Superfood Blend)

1 tblsp nut butter (almond, peanut or sunflower)

Almond Milk (unsweetened vanilla)

1 tblsp chia seeds (see tip for “plumping” them) – optional

¼ to ½ small avocado – optional

Put all ingredients in your blender (I use a NutriBullet) and blend away!

You can use any organic protein that you like.  My favorite brand is Orgain.  I love it because it is vegan, gluten free and contains no soy.  I have used the chocolate for years in my post workout shake and love the flavor and blend-ability.  Recently Orgain has introduced a Protein Superfoods blend with probiotics.

GAME CHANGER!  Right now it is sold exclusively at Costco and it is on sale for $22.49 for a 2.7 pound container through March 4, 2018,

The ingredients list is quite extensive and I love all the things about this new blend:

21g Organic Plant-based Protein

1 Billion Probiotics

Smooth & delicious classic Vanilla Bean flavor

Organic Ancient Grains

Organic B & C Vitamins

8g Organic Fiber

50 Organic Superfoods including beets, blueberries, acai, ginger root, turmeric, chia, bell peppers, kale, wheat grass

No Added Sugar

Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free

No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives

As we age and lose 2% to 4% of our muscle mass each year, we need additional protein to prevent this from happening and this is an easy, healthy way to get it.  And tastes great!

Superfoods provide many benefits to our health, including a natural whole food supply of antioxidants, fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals and other vital micronutrients and help us meet our daily fruit and veggie needs.  All vital to our health, immunity and strength.

Look at the list of ingredients!!!

Probiotics help us to maintain our gut health and increase the healthy bacteria in our digestive system.  This helps us maintain balance in our systems, prevent illness and reduce bloat and inflammation.

If you want to try something different and refreshing for breakfast, this Breakfast Protein Shake will leave you satisfied all morning, give you a healthy dose of foods that are beneficial to your body and help you  have a good life!

See you next week!

Kim

TIP:  To plump Chia Seeds – add 1 tablespoon of seeds to a small glass bowl, add 3 tablespoons of water, cover them with plastic wrap and store in the fridge.  They will grow and become gelatin like making them easy to blend in your shake.
